Politically conservative candidates find a like-minded student body in these ten schools. This score measures the competitiveness of admissions to each law school on a scale of 60 to 99. Factors considered include the average LSAT score and undergraduate GPA of 1L students, the percentage of applicants who are accepted, and the percentage of candidates who are accepted and eventually enrolled. No data from the student survey is used for this calculation. This assessment is intended to be used to compare all law schools, whether or not their students responded to our law student survey. If a law school has relatively low admission selectivity, this does not necessarily mean that it is easy to obtain admission to that law school. (It`s really not easy to study at law schools recognized by the ABA.) Low admission selectivity simply means that the school performed worse than other schools based on the above criteria. “Each of the 164 law schools we have selected for our 2021 Best Law Schools project offers outstanding scholars,” said Rob Franek, editor-in-chief of the Princeton Review. “We report law school rankings in 14 categories – rather than a mega-list based solely on academics – for one reason: to help applicants identify the most appropriate law school for them. Our lists name schools that excel in areas that law school applicants have deemed important to them – from career opportunities to differences in campus culture.
Princeton Review`s 2021 ranking of top law schools is based on data from the company`s surveys of 14,000 students from 164 law schools and faculty administrators. The student surveys were conducted during the 2019-2020, 2018-19 and 2017-18 academic years. The 80-question survey (completed on www.princetonreview.com/survey) asked students about their schools` education, student body and campus life, as well as their own career plans. On average, 85 students were interviewed at each law school. The surveys of school administrators were conducted in 2019-2020. Only schools that participate in the Princeton Review Administrator and Student Survey for this project are eligible for the ranking. Our law school ratings are numerical ratings that we give to schools on a scale of 60 to 99 in various areas. This score measures the quality of the school`s learning environment on a scale of 60 to 99. Factors considered include the selectivity rating of admissions, as well as students` assessment of: the quality of teaching and accessibility of their professors, their school`s research resources, the range of courses available, the balance between the program`s emphasis on legal theory and practical defense, tolerance for different opinions in class and the degree of intellectual challenge that the course represents. This score puts each law school on a continuum to compare all law schools in this year`s edition. If a law school scores relatively low, it doesn`t necessarily mean that it offers a bad academic experience to its students. On the contrary, it simply means that the school performed worse than other schools based on the above criteria.
