Want to buy a legal dirt bike on the road, but don`t know where to start? Whether you`re looking for your first off-road motorcycle or just want to choose the right bike based on your needs, you`ve come to the right place! In some states, you can register and get a license plate so your off-road motorcycle can ride on the road if it meets the requirements. Choosing one of these big bikes is a more difficult decision, but if your main use is to ride on the road – and you`re a patient person – you should be okay with starting with one as long as you take your time. Some mountain bikes can be upgraded on the road depending on their location, but it`s much easier (and usually cheaper) to buy one that`s already plated to ride on the road if you want to ride the same bike on the road and in the dirt. It really depends on what you want to use the bike for. If you`re just a trail runner who needs a flat bike to stay legal when you`re driving through a city or side roads, you don`t need a dual sport bike.
